The Incredibles Animated Movie
Whenever the world has seemed in need of a few laughs in these times of distress and tension, a certain someone has always stepped up to the challenge and provided the world a medium to unwind. The medium of theatre and cinema is the best way to put a message across to its audiences and Walt Disney are the undisputed emperors of this domain. Since time immemorial (1918 to be precise), Warner Bros and Walt Disney pictures have been putting smiles on our faces, our fathers and coming to think of it, our grandfathers too!
Much to the chagrin of audiences around the world, Warner Bros. shut down their animation division due to the hard times they had fallen upon. So when Brad Bird, an excellent animator came up with an idea to make a film upon superheroes, he had to move to Pixar Animation Studios to carry out his life's dream.
The storyline of The Incredibles was fairly simple. The story followed the age old concept of super heroes and their lives. The story followed a family of super heroes and their lives after they were forced to go into hiding when the world turned against them and their powers. Given new identities and homes by the Government, these super heroes live as normal people, without ever using their powers.
The main characters of the movie are two super heroes Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, who married and settles down into their new lives, raising three children Violet, Dash and the youngest and seemingly super powerless Jack-Jack. Bored by the common routine of his work and the continuous reprimands of his boss, Mr. Incredible jumps at the first chance of super hero work offered to him by the secretive agent Mirage. Concealing his loss of the previous job and the true nature of the new one, Mr. Incredible goes to an island and finishes off the robot Omnidroid 8000. Seemingly happy with his new life, Mr. Incredible loves his new job and starts getting back into shape. Once again called into action against the new and improved Omnidroid 9000, Mr. Incredible gets captured by Syndrome, an old fan of Mr. Incredible who wanted to be his sidekick but was rudely rejected. Tortured by the thought of his helplessness, Syndrome designed high tech missions and made it his lives mission to wipe the superheroes of the face of the earth. Coming to the rescue of Mr. Incredible are his full family, who partially free him but are eventually captured. Launching the Omnidroid 10000 towards the city to cause destruction, Syndrome plans to act super hero like as the remote controlling the robot is in his hands. Escaping the island with Mirage's help, Mr. incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Frozone combine their powers to fight the new and powerful robot and finally manage to disable it. With Syndrome's hopes dashed yet again, the Incredibles reach home to find Jack-Jack being kidnapped by Syndrome. The seemingly powerless Jack-Jack turns into a red devil like monster who escaped from Syndrome's clutches. Burning with fury Mr. Incredible hurls his car into Syndrome's plane and kills him in the process. As all stories end, this story too ends on a normal note, with the world being saved and everyone happy about everything when a new villain emerges and all Incredibles don their uniforms to fight this menace together. But that's a story we will keep on for some other time.
