Movie Scripts Are The Backbone For The Production
Movies have always been a fascination for audiences worldwide. Movies these days draw droves of people to cinema theatres everyday breaking box office records on a daily basis. Every new movie smashes box office collection records, raises the standard and sets a new benchmark for movies to come. Coming to think about it, what makes a movie special? Personally, I think the script of a movie conquers all. It's the movie's script that decides the flow of events, the base of the movie and the screen presence of all the characters in the movie.
A movie script is the deciding factor of any movie. When someone goes to a movie, he expects to be taken through a ride of his life. One expects a rollercoaster ride of thrill, adventure, drama, romance and comedy. The most successful movies are those which can maintain a perfect balance of all the above mentioned characteristics. And it's the movie's script that makes it so special. Without a well defined script, a movie is absolutely nothing. If a movie is a human being, the movie script can be compared to god - something which makes the movie ticking, living and moving.

The seed of a script of a movie is implanted in the mind of the director of a movie. The director then sits down with a script writer to have intense brain storming sessions and slowly and steadily the script and the flow of events in the movie unfold. When the script of a movie is written, many factors are taken into consideration. Many a times, the script is written by taking into consideration the different characters played by the artistes. Many a times it's the director's view and ideas that are penned into the script. Many people may be surprised to know that the script of a movie undergoes many changes even after it has been finalised. Many an actor has been known to adapt the script to his own screen role and add his/her own touches to the flow of the movie. Famous actor and director, Tom Cruise has been known to sit down with the director during the movie's shooting and suggest and even implement changes in the script of the movie.
The movie script is a scene by scene representation of the movie. It is in fact the complete movie on paper. The movie is made completely based on the sequence of events written down in the script. When a script is written, the director has to feel it, live it and visualize it, otherwise the end product is just a loosely wrought storyline joined at the seams by some otherwise strong screen performances. The end product - a flop! As David Mamet, a very popular American playwright once said - "A good film script should be able to do completely without dialogue". A movie script should be so powerful that it should move the hardiest of men, bend the strongest of men. A strong script shouldn't just make the viewer visualize the movie; it should make him live it!
